Tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto “Micro Ambient Music” is a memorial compilation for the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, gathering unreleased pieces by musicians from Japan and abroad who admired the “Micro Ambient Music” of his later years — music that uses non-instrumental sounds such as field recordings and noise to bring silence and serenity to the listener. Following the digital release in 2023 (German Record Critics’ Award, 2023), commmons released the compilation as a series of six limited vinyl LPs from May 2024 to March 2025. A portion of the proceeds is donated to Trees For Sakamoto.
